Laser Skin Rejuvenation
Laser Skin Rejuvenation is an effective way of reducing the visible
signs of aging and sun damage such as fine lines and wrinkles, age
spots and pigmentation changes.
Anti-ageing Laser Skin Rejuvenation is achieved by directing a
intense 'laser light' at the skin's surface, stimulating cells called
'fibroblasts' in the epidermis causing them to produce more collagen
 the skin's natural scaffolding substance.
Laser Skin Rejuvenation for Pigmentation
Laser Skin Rejuvenation can be used to correct pigmentation changes
in the skin. Laser skin rejuvenation works on pigmentation as the
laser's light is taken up by 'darker' areas of the skin causing
the area to peel and shed.
Procedures Involved in Laser Skin Rejuvenation
Before commencing your Laser Skin Rejuvenation treatment, a skin
typing analysis is performed.
Laser Skin Rejuvenation itself is relatively virtually painless,
but if required the area can be treated with an anaesthetic cream.
Because Laser Skin Rejuvenation works by recognising pigmented
areas on the skin's surface, tanning should be avoided for at least
4 weeks before the procedure. This includes sunbathing, tanning
booths, applying fake tan.
Laser Skin rejuvenation will usually be used in a course of treatment
involving 4 to 6 sessions of laser lights being applied to the affected
areas.
What Happens After Laser Skin Rejuvenation
Following Laser Skin Rejuvenation it is very important that the
area treated is protected from sun exposure for at least 4 weeks
following treatment.
Laser Skin Rejuvenation may cause some redness of the area treated.
This usually settles within 2 days of the treatment. Ice packs and
Aloe Vera gel will also alleviate any mild discomfort if they are
needed.
